Workshop types

Public demo day
A public demo day is normally organised over an afternoon with 2 parallel sessions and 7 times lots of 45 min. In this setup, a total of 14 family groups can participate (min age: 3). In the 45 min, participating groups normally get the following experience:
-
Short intro to offshore wind (5 min)
-
Build the turbine (10 min)
-
Install one fixed structure (10 min)
-
Install one floating structure (10 min)
-
Decommissioning (5 min)
Volunteers help out during the day with setting up, teaching kids, and packing up at the end.

Outdoor school demo
The sessions at the beach normally take 2h, during which we do the following:
-
Introduction to offshore wind (10-20 min)
-
Build turbine in groups of 4 (10-20 min)
-
Test fixed support structures (25-35 min)
-
Test floating support structures (25-35 min)
-
Decommissioning (10-15 min)
We can organise up to 3 of the beach sessions in one day. Per session we teach max. 25 kids (age: 8 - 15). Instead of at the beach, the sessions can also be run at a lake, pond, swimming pool, or with a water tank/sand pit.

Indoor Wind4Kids demo
Wind4Kids is a global educational program for schools initiated by OffshoreWind4Kids.
The program educates kids about the fundamentals of wind energy. We offer school workshops, teacher trainings and gear.
All kids learn using the new Wind4Kids turbine with built-in measurement equipment! 💨⚡️
Check it out on the Wind4Kids website!
