Mission

OffshoreWind4Kids is a non-profit organisation based in Belgium. Our goals are to:
 

  1. Inspire girls and boys about engineering, technology and renewable energy

  2. Stimulate innovation in offshore wind

  3. Spread awareness of offshore wind to the general public 

​

To stimulate gender diversity in STEM, we aim to reach as many girls as boys during our events. We only started in 2021, but due to the large interest, we've already been active in more than 20 countries! In 2025 we aim to inspire 10.000 kids with the project.

Advisory Committee

OffshoreWind4Kids is seeking senior industry professionals to join our Advisory Committee. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of offshore wind education and inspire the next generation of engineers.
 

What we’re building:

  • A global platform that connects children with offshore wind through hands-on models, workshops, and challenges.

  • A strong partnership network spanning the full offshore wind supply chain.

  • A community that combines technical expertise with outreach and education.


Your role as an Advisory Committee member:

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to OffshoreWind4Kids.

  • Act as an ambassador for offshore wind education within your organisation and the wider industry.

  • Join quarterly online meetings, with the option to participate in sub-committees on specific work lines (meeting more regularly).

  • Help us identify and create new partnerships that strengthen our impact.

  • Serve a 1-year term, renewable upon mutual agreement.


Who we are looking for:

  • Senior professionals with recognised expertise in offshore wind (engineering, project development, supply chain, policy, etc.).

  • Individuals with a mandate for outreach within their organisation.

  • Leaders who are passionate about education, diversity, and building a strong talent pipeline for the offshore wind industry.
     

By joining the Advisory Committee, you’ll not only guide the direction of OffshoreWind4Kids but also showcase your organisation’s commitment to education, community engagement, and the future of renewable energy.

Intern

OffshoreWind4Kids is looking for interns to:

  • Develop offshore wind simulation games

  • Organise demo days

  • Manufacture offshore wind support structures

  • Design & test new structures

​

Essential qualifications:

  • Basic programming skills

  • Knowledge about or interest in design principles for offshore wind support structures

​

Desirable qualifications

  • Knowledge about simulation software (FEM, fluid dynamics)

  • Experience teaching kids or organising kids activities

  • Experience with prototyping and CAD modelling

  • Drivers license

​

Location: Brussels, Belgium (On-site), and may include travel abroad for workshops.

 

Our internships lasts for 3 weeks to 3 months. An expense fee for volunteers of 42,31€/day will be covered. Additional costs relating to travel for demo days will also be covered. International candidates are offered on-site accommodation.
