Week 10 of CVEN90071: Offshore Wind Beach Demo 🌊⚡
After weeks of diving into the theory of monopiles and suction caissons, our students took their learning outdoors for some hands-on fun under the sunshine at Port Melbourne Beach!
Using the OffshoreWind4Kids demo kits, our University of Melbourne students built and tested a range of hashtag#OffshoreWind foundations and systems — from gravity-based foundations and monopiles to jackets on caissons, spar buoys, semi-submersibles, and tension-leg platforms.
It was fantastic to see their teamwork in action. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we can take our students to experience a real offshore wind farm here in Australia! 🌏💨
