Inspire the next generation

Join OffshoreWind4Kids to engage the next generation in the exciting world of offshore wind. Through hands-on activities, we empower kids to discover the science and technology behind clean energy solutions

Events

We take pride in reaching kids across all countries where offshore wind is being developed, as well as in many countries exploring this technology. In 2024, our goal is to engage over 10,000 children!

Our programs include interactive demo days for families, engaging school workshops both indoors and outdoors, and team-building activities for students and professionals alike. We also host the world’s greatest student challenge in offshore wind, inspiring young minds to innovate and explore the future of clean energy!

Shop

Explore our growing shop, featuring a variety of educational and fun items designed to inspire young minds! From small-scale floating wind turbine models built with bricks to engaging card decks, children’s books, and our wind turbine kits, there’s something for every budding engineer.

We also offer workshop material sets for companies looking to bring our offshore wind activities to their own communities, helping us expand the reach of our mission to educate and inspire the next generation of innovators in clean energy.

Floating Wind Challenge

The Floating Wind Challenge is the world's greatest student competition in offshore wind, where teams from around the world come together to design and build the best floating wind support structure.

With over 100 participants each year, the challenge attracts teams from Japan, Taiwan, the US, Canada, and across Europe. This exciting event pushes students to innovate and test their engineering skills, as they compete to create the most efficient and stable floating wind support structure. It’s a thrilling experience that inspires the next generation of offshore wind pioneers!

Wind4Kids

Discover the Wind4Kids program, made possible through our partnerships and Erasmus+ funding, offering free workshops in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Luxembourg. In these hands-on sessions, kids dive into the world of wind energy, experimenting with turbines to see how much power they can generate.

They also get the chance to participate in an exciting challenge, where they design and test their own blades to maximize energy production. It’s a fun and educational way for young innovators to explore renewable energy and learn about the power of wind!
