What better way to end the week than a day on the beach, building floating wind turbines? 🌊
On the final day of the FRONTIErS - Doctoral Network Summer School in Barcelona, our DCs took part in the OffshoreWind4Kids workshop, led by Dr Ir William Beuckelaers. After a morning introduction to the fundamentals of assembling floating wind structures, we headed to Gavà-Castelldefels beach for a hands-on challenge.
The mission? Fully assemble, ballast, and deploy small-scale floating wind turbines, testing both their stability and the power of teamwork in real-world conditions. By the end of the day, we had created the largest floating wind farm in Spain (so far 😉).
A perfect ending to a week packed with a lot of great training sessions!
Huge thanks to Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and everyone who made it such a success! 🚀
See you next year!
